Beaune Coast

Le point de vue du Baroudeur

The Côte de Beaune, located in the heart of Burgundy where the vines and the land come into perfect harmony. Stretching from the village of Ladoix-Serrigny in the north to Maranges in the south, this region is famous for producing some of the world's finest white wines, primarily from Chardonnay, as well as excellent red wines made from Pinot Noir .

At the heart of the Côte de Beaune, we find prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, synonymous with opulent and elegant white wines, reverring aromatic complexity with notes of hazelnut, butter and sometimes limestone minerals. , underpinned by a lively acidity.

The region's red wines are no less renowned with appellations like Pommard and Volnay offering deep reds, often evoking aromas of cherries, earth and spices, with a fine but robust structure.

The soil of the Côte de Beaune varies greatly, with a mosaic of limestone and clay terroirs which imbue each wine with a unique identity. This geological diversity, combined with a moderate continental climate, allows the region's winegrowers to cultivate vines that fully express the intrinsic qualities of their grape varieties.
