Barolo 2019

67,00 €
Format:

The Pio Cesare estate, founded in 1881, remains today the only bastion of the capital of the Langhes: Alba. This historic structure and the emblematic figure of Pio Cesare gave it the merit of having been among the first, in the 19th century, to believe in the immense potential of the region's wines, in particular Barolo and Barbaresco. Pio Cesare's Barolo embodies both tradition and modernity. It is traditionally made from grapes coming from the municipalities of Serralunga d'Alba, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Barolo, Novello, Castiglione Falletto and Monforte. After a long fermentation respecting traditions, the wine is aged for more than three years in French oak barrels, or in larger tuns, thus harmoniously combining tradition and innovation. The result is a balanced wine, characterized by firm but well-controlled tannins: a bold interpretation of this extraordinary Nebbiolo. Its captivating bouquet oscillates between sweet notes of prunes and fresher, balsamic and licorice aromas, while its flavor is pure, refined and persistent, offering extraordinary pleasure from the first years.
