Grüner Veltliner varietal wines

Grüner Veltliner is Austria's iconic grape variety, and by far the most common grape variety in the country. It has aromas of citrus (lemon peel and grapefruit) complemented by notes of stone fruits such as apricot and a touch of white pepper characteristic of the grape variety. The best Austrian expressions come from the vineyards above the Danube, in the Wachau, Kremstal and Kamptal.
