Vermentino

Le point de vue du Baroudeur

Vermentino is a thin-skinned white grape variety. It thrives in areas with warmer climates, due to its tendency to mature quite late in the growing season. It is grown in various locations and under different names around the western Mediterranean including northwest Italy, southern France and neighboring islands such as Corsica and Sardinia. It also goes by the name Favorita in Piedmont and Rolle in the south of France. Vermentino generally reveals notes of citrus, tropical fruit, aromatic herbs, almonds, flowers and a saline minerality.
