Opus One is the essential wine of the Napa Valley, born in 1979 from the union of two giants of the wine world: Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild. But it was Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, now deceased, who really brought the project to life after the death of her father.

Opus One is an opulent and ripe wine, with an undeniable French touch that goes well beyond its classic Bordeaux blend (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon combined with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec). Its style is resolutely Bordeaux, elegant and refined. A Napa Valley with a Bordeaux soul or a Bordeaux rooted in Napa Valley, the choice is yours.

Since Philippe Dhalluin took the reins of technical management of all the Rothschild family cellars (Château Mouton Rothschild, Château Clerc Milon and Château d'Armailhac in Pauillac, Almaviva in Chile, Domaine de Baron'arques in Limoux and Opus One itself in Napa Valley), Opus One, already considered one of the greatest Californian wines, has gained in finesse. A more rigorous selection of grapes, micro-vinifications by plots and the use of barrels with lighter oak than before have contributed to its refinement. Undeniably, a wine to taste at least once in your life.
