Description of the Cuvée Bourgogne Pinot Noir

The Cuvée Bourgogne Pinot Noir from Domaine Vaudoisey is a tribute to the king grape variety of Burgundy. Cultivated in vineyards carefully selected for their soil and microclimate, this Pinot Noir is vinified to express both the finesse and depth characteristic of this grape variety. Aging in oak barrels is mastered to enrich the wine without overwhelming the natural nuances of the fruit.

Aromas of the Cuvée

This wine is characterized by an elegant bouquet of fresh red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, intertwined with floral notes and a light pepper, typical of Pinot Noir. Aging in oak gives delicate touches of vanilla and toast which complement the aromatic profile without dominating.

Characteristics of the Cuvée

  • Grape variety: Pinot Noir
  • Profile: On the palate, the wine offers a velvety texture and a fine tannin structure, with a very present acidity which brings a vibrant freshness. The complexity of the flavors unfolds with a long and elegant finish, highlighting the purity of the fruit.
  • Aging Potential: This Burgundy Pinot Noir has excellent aging potential, allowing its aromas and structure to blossom over time, revealing increased complexity and refined elegance.

Pairings with this Cuvée

France, home of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne, is undoubtedly the most important wine producing country in the world. For centuries, it produced wine in greater quantities than any other country. Wine is ingrained in French culture at almost every level of society; it is the drink of the elite and the common people, and a key symbol of Roman Catholicism, the majority religion in France. The diversity of French wines is due, in large part, to the country's wide variety of climates.

Burgundy is a real adventure land for wine lovers! Supported by a predominantly continental climate, Burgundy wines draw their unique character from diverse influences — continental, Mediterranean and oceanic — which intertwine to create a symphony of incomparable flavors. It is this climatic fusion that allows each Burgundy Grand Cru to reveal aromas and flavors that some consider to be the best in the world.

From north to south, each Burgundian wine region, from Chablis to Mâconnais, benefits from its own microclimate. In Chablis, winegrowers combat spring frosts by wrapping the vines in a protective cocoon of frozen water. On the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, the hills capture the sunlight, generating hot summers which fill the grapes with sunshine, while the Mâconnais benefits from an almost Mediterranean climate, less prone to frost and drier.

This mix of climatic conditions, combined with a diverse geology with more than 400 different soil types, gives each Burgundy wine its own identity. Each bottle is a story of terroir, a story of land and climate, an invitation to explore the rich wine heritage of Burgundy.
