The Bechthold vineyard, planted in 1886 , is said to be the oldest existing plots of Cinsault on Earth (over 130 years old). In addition, these same vines are non-irrigated and ungrafted, which proves the rarity of this heritage. The stated mission of the Birichino winery is to produce minimally-intervened wines that achieve a perfect balance between perfume, balance and roundness. Fermentation is indigenous, and aging lasted 10 months in neutral French barrels before bottling without filtration.
