Gamay grape wines
Gamay is a grape variety that is best known for being the star grape variety of Beaujolais producing light and fruity red wines. The grape variety offers fresh aromas of red fruits and jam, with little concentration and tannins. That said, some examples can be deep and complex. Outside of France, Gamay is most seriously taken in Switzerland, where it is often blended with Pinot Noir. There are some examples in Canada, Italy, New Zealand, and Croatia.
