Orange wine is a type of white wine made by leaving the grape skins and seeds in contact with the juice, creating a dark orange finished product. To make orange wine, you first take white grapes, crush them, and then place them in a large container (often made of cement or ceramic). Then, you usually let the grapes ferment alone for a few days to sometimes over a year with the skins and seeds. Because of all this, they taste very different from regular white wines. They have tannins from the white grapes and develop aromas that are citrusy, exotic, and even oxidized.
