Description of the Cuvée Pommard Rouge
Domaine Vaudoisey's Cuvée Pommard Rouge is an exquisite example of Pinot Noir grown in the Pommard appellation, famous for its robust and elegant wines. This wine comes from vineyards carefully selected for their rich soil and optimal exposure, which allows perfect maturation of the grapes. Aging in new and used oak barrels provides complexity and structure, while respecting the integrity of the fruit.
Aromas of the Cuvée
This Pommard Rouge offers a rich and complex nose, marked by aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackcurrant and blackberry, accompanied by spicy notes of black pepper and clove. Touches of damp earth and leather add an extra dimension, typical of Pommard Pinot Noirs, with a light background of toasted oak.
Characteristics of the Cuvée
- Grape variety: Pinot Noir
- Profile: On the palate, the wine is deeply structured, with very present but refined tannins, and an acidity which brings balance and freshness. The finish is persistent and reveals a beautiful aromatic complexity with an elegant integration of wood.
- Aging Potential: With considerable aging potential, this Pommard is designed to evolve and refine over time, allowing the dense and complex aromas to fully develop.
Pairings with this Cuvée
Ideal with rich meat dishes such as beef bourguignon, roast duck, or feathered game dishes, this Pommard Rouge can also accompany strong cheeses such as Époisses. Its sturdiness and elegance make it an excellent choice for special occasions and gourmet meals.

The little history of the country
Burgundy
France, home of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne, is undoubtedly the most important wine producing country in the world. For centuries, it produced wine in greater quantities than any other country. Wine is ingrained in French culture at almost every level of society; it is the drink of the elite and the common people, and a key symbol of Roman Catholicism, the majority religion in France. The diversity of French wines is due, in large part, to the country's wide variety of climates.
