Clare Valley
Located in the South of Australia, the Clare Valley, considered "Riesling Alley", is one of the most picturesque regions of Australia. It is actually a series of narrow valleys from north to south, each having a different soil type and slightly different weather conditions along its route. Viticulture in this region dates back to the 19th century and most of the estates are linked together by the Riesling route. Differences in soil, altitude, degree of slope and climate allow the region to produce some of Australia's finest aromatic, spicy and limey Rieslings as well as excellent Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon with ripe fruit notes and good acidity and great structure.
