The Chardonnay grape variety expresses all its aromatic complexity in this cuvée. The nose reveals pure and fruity aromas with mineral notes. Aging in oak barrels for 2/3 of the vintage for 9 months produces well-blended woody aromas. On the palate, the balance between roundness and freshness is remarkable.
The Clos du Vignon plot, planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is located in Marey les Fussey and borders the old Lieu Dieu abbey. It was already cultivated as vines in the 12th century. The Chardonnay part, which is more than 40 years old, benefits from optimal sunshine from the morning thanks to its south-southeast orientation. The marl-limestone soil of this part of the hillside is ideal for the aromatic expression of Chardonnay.

The little history of the country

Burgundy

product descriptions logo

France, home of Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne, is undoubtedly the most important wine producing country in the world. For centuries, it produced wine in greater quantities than any other country. Wine is ingrained in French culture at almost every level of society; it is the drink of the elite and the common people, and a key symbol of Roman Catholicism, the majority religion in France. The diversity of French wines is due, in large part, to the country's wide variety of climates.
