Greco di Tufo is one of the finest appellations in southern Italy, producing the country's best white wines. The Vesevo winery takes its name from the famous volcano Mount Vesuvius , in whose shadow the vineyards lie. The estate has built its reputation on close and well-developed cooperation with the best winegrowers in the region comprising around 60 hectares of carefully selected and maintained vineyards. The wines are made by a team led by the famous Alberto Antonini . The vines benefit from rich volcanic soils which give the wines mineral nuances. All the grapes are picked by hand and then vinified according to traditions that have existed for thousands of years. The wine is made in stainless steel vats and will be aged on fine lees to develop more complexity and substance. This wine reveals bright aromas of ripe apples , pear , melon , honeysuckle , acacia flower , citrus , kiwis , flint , and white peach . On the palate, it is lively, tense and fruity, balanced by a beautiful substance and an elegant minerality.
